The Australian Government has reappointed Mr Chris Fechner as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Digital Transformation Agency (DTA) for a period of two-years.

Since Mr Fechner was appointed CEO in 2021, the DTA has provided expert investment advice and oversight to drive digital transformation and deliver benefits to all Australians.

Under his leadership, the agency has improved planning, quality, performance and engagement across government, contributing to global recognition and favourable digital governance rankings. This year, Australia placed second in the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Digital Government Index.

During Mr Fechner’s first term, the DTA strengthened oversight of major digital investments, improved coordination across government and supported agencies to design and deliver simpler, safer and more accessible digital services.

Mr Fechner will continue to lead the DTA’s work to strengthen digital investment and support agencies to deliver high-quality, secure and accessible government services.
