The myGov app is now connected to over 8.4 million myGov accounts, as more Australians embrace the app as a secure and convenient way to access government services online.
Three years after its release, use of the myGov app continues to grow, it has been used in over 44% of all daily sign ins to myGov in the first 5 months of this financial year, up from 33.1% for the same period 12 months ago.
The myGov app has been used to access linked services over 81.4 million times this financial year to the end of November.
The app uses mobile device security features like fingerprint and facial recognition to make secure sign ins fast and simple. Fingerprint and facial recognition have been used in over 60% of sign ins via the app in the first 5 months of this financial year, up slightly on the same period last year.
Over the life of the app, a total of 3.4 million government issued cards, such as Centrelink concession cards, Medicare cards and the Organ Donor Card, have been added to the myGov app wallet, and these items have been viewed over 9.8 million times.
The Australian Government remains committed to helping people keep their myGov account safe, and the myGov security review feature has contributed significantly to this.
Since this feature was released last December, passkeys or Digital IDs have been added to 3.3 million accounts. This takes the total number of accounts with connected Digital IDs to 5.5 million, and over 2 million accounts with a passkey.
