Advances to the Finance Minister in the week ending Friday, 19 November June 2021

Senator the Hon. Simon Birmingham
Minister for Finance
Leader of the Government in the Senate
Senator for South Australia

Date

Today I approved a determination to release $218 million in funding to support construction of Centres for National Resilience in Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth, using the Advance to the Finance Minister (the AFM).

The determination provides funding to the Department of Finance to meet early stage contractual milestone payments for the construction of purpose-built quarantine facilities. Further allocations from the AFM appropriation will be made as the builders of the facilities meet additional contracted deliverables.

The determination was made from the AFM that was appropriated by the Parliament in Appropriation Act (No. 2) 2020-2021.

The determination was signed on 19 November 2021. This determination was registered on the Federal Register of Legislation, together with an Explanatory Statement (these are available at legislation.gov.au).
