New telecommunication services panel

The Government has established the Telecommunications Services Panel to provide a coordinated, whole of government provision of telecommunications services, including internet connection services.
The initial panel includes:
- Macquarie Telecom Pty Ltd
- Nextgen Networks Pty Ltd
- Sliced Tech Pty Ltd
- Telstra Corporation Ltd
- TPG Network Pty Ltd
- Verizon Australia Pty Ltd
The Government is continuing negotiations with other providers to be added to the panel.
The new panel have been appointed for an initial term of four years, with options to extend for a further three periods of twelve months each.
Services that the Telecommunications Services Panel will provide include network carriage, managed networks, internet connection and optional satellite services.
This panel replaces the Internet Based Network Connection Services panel, which was hugely successful, with 198 contracts at a value of $470 million and achieved savings of over $94 million. This new panel is expected to deliver similar savings.
