The Australian Government has reappointed Dr Kerry Schott AO as a director of NBN Co Limited (nbn) for a second term of three years.
Dr Schott’s reappointment ensures continuity for the company at a critical stage of the rollout of the national broadband network to all Australians. Over the next three years nbn is aiming to provide access to the network, or have construction underway, in areas covering more than nine million Australian homes and businesses.
The nbn Board will continue to benefit from Dr Schott’s professional expertise and extensive experience in infrastructure, investment and public policy. Recently reappointed as the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Moorebank Intermodal Company (MIC), Dr Schott also sits on the boards of Infrastructure Australia, NSW Treasury Corporation and the Whitlam Institute. Dr Schott has held senior executive roles as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the NSW Commission of Audit, CEO of Sydney Water, Managing Director of Deutsche Bank and Executive Vice President of Bankers Trust Australia.
Dr Schott was made an Officer of the Order of Australia earlier this year for her “distinguished service to business and commerce through a range of public and private sector finance roles, to leadership in the delivery of government infrastructure projects, and to the community”.
Shareholder Ministers congratulate Dr Schott on her reappointment and look forward to continuing to work with her to implement the Government’s broadband policy.
