Senator the Hon. Mathias Cormann
Minister for Finance
NOT FOR DISTRIBUTION OR RELEASE IN THE UNITED STATES
We are pleased to announce that the number of pre-registrations for the Medibank Private Share Offer has exceeded our expectations, with 750,494 Australians formally lodging their interest in a Medibank Private Share Offer prospectus.
This includes 278,732 eligible1 Medibank Private or ahm private health insurance policyholders.
This indicates a strong level of interest in the Medibank Private Share Offer.
The Government now expects to lodge the Medibank Private Share Offer Prospectus with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) on Monday, 20 October 2014.
Following the ASIC review period, which is expected to take five working days, the General Public Offer will open to Australian retail investors.
The General Public Offer will be open until the middle of November and will be followed by an Institutional Offer.
There will also be a Broker Firm Offer where Australian and New Zealand brokers will be invited to bid for a firm allocation of shares on behalf of their retail clients.
Medibank Private is expected to list in late November 2014, subject to market conditions.
Full details of the Medibank Private Share Offer will be released in the prospectus.
